Earlier this year, I bought an electric violin to experiment with some of my own compositions and to play more genres of music. I was thrilled to have my first electric violin made by instrument maker Ted Brewer and shipped from England!

Last night, I performed using this electric violin at the Embassy of Italy in Washington DC for an event to fight domestic violence.

Attorney Becky Lee, the second runner-up of the 2006 CBS hit reality TV show Survivor: Cook Islands, founded Becky’s Fund with her prize money to raise awareness and prevent domestic violence. I was proud to be part of the 2013 Walk This Way Fashion Show sponsored by Becky’s Fund as I joined world-class athletes and professional models to help inspire and empower victims through my music.

We raised more than $87,000 last night!

Music and the arts can communicate powerful messages to the world. I’m ready to contribute my part to make the world a better place.
